About 1 year ago,I thought to read the Windows Vista on the Internet.I changed sites, but every site gave Vista a bad review. Some of the most important points about its dislike were-
1-Costly
2-High System Requirements
3-Too much variety
4-No support for some softwares and drivers
5-Bad performance in games
6-Security alerts every now and then
Now I am gonna kill all these points and prove that Microsoft has put its best in crafting Windows Vista to perfection.Stop Criticizing it.If you talk about the graphics, then other OS are no comparison for Vista.
1-Costly
Problem:People are saying that Microsoft Windows Vista is very costly.
Solution:Grapes are sour.If you can't buy Vista, forget it.Microsoft has been a leader in OS since about 1985.And its a Universal law that with time and experience,be it a person or any object-its value increases. So that's a very silly excuse for not buying Vista.Take the example of Sony PS3.It was very costly on the eve of it's release, but later it became cheaper. But those gaming enthusiasists bought home the PS3 At the costliest. So,If you have value for an object,Money will find a way.The prices of Windows Vista may also fall in the future.
2-High System Requirements
Problem:Vista requires at least 1 GB Ram to function and also a graphics card for full performance.
Solution:Time will heal everything. When I bought my PC 3 years back,it had just 256 MB Ram and I was respected for that as 256 RAM was more than enough at that time. And it costed me more than it will now.And the 128 MB Ram is extinct now.Prices of technology are falling month by month and a 1 GB RAM Today costs nothing more than Rs 1200.Just a month or two of money saving is enough for it.You can easily compare the old tech prices with the new one if you have any tech book of previous time and current.Previously a 128 MB Graphics card costed around 7000/- INR (the cheapest one) and now a 256 MB Graphics Card,Precisely double the memory costs just (2100/- INR)
3-Too much variety
Problem:Vista has 6 different editions to choose from making it difficult for the buyer.
Solutions:From Ice Cream to Girl Friends, variety is everywhere, then why not Vista. The decision is easy, just take any edition that suites you.You can goto the Microsoft Site for help. After all nothing except some softwares and the title screen changes with the editions.
4-No Support for some drivers and softwares
Problems:Vista doesn't support some drivers and softwares
Solution:Each and every driver of all compatible hardware is automatically installed by Vista and the softwares for Vista will soon be developed by the various programmers.
5-Bad performance in games
Problems:Games require much more highly configured system in Vista than in XP leading to bad performance in some games.
Solution:As I mentioned in the 2nd problem, the prices will fall. You can easily get a well configured PC with less tackling of your pocket.Vista will give you DX 10 and a special games center to get you playing the real effects of games.
6-Security alerts every now and then
Problem:Vista gives you a security alert every now and then hindering your productivity.
Solution:Vista is doing it's best to protect you from threats as many kids and foolish people would run dangerous applications that could cause harm to the computer. These messages can however be disabled from the control panel.
So that was all.Wait 3-5 years (depending on country) from now and you will see a PC running Windows Vista on every desk.
Great work Microsoft and keep it up.

it's right whatever u are telling, word to word, no dought about that
But, still there is a problem.
If you have scanner and printer than there is problem
VISTA is not compatible with that
It will be good if can suggest something
most of the times i get a blue screen error. and i dont know why . my config is core 2duo 1.86 mgz, 2 1+1 gb ram, 160, hard disk ,and its a note book
Hi Dube_vinod2007
First of all thanks for agreeing with me.
And if you are having trouble with your printer and scanner,First of all it must have a driver cd with it.try installing them.
if it doesn't work then its sure that the printers/scanners are a little old,so the manufacturers must have given the vista drivers on the net.You can just go to their official website and get them.
Most recent and upcoming hardware will be compatible with Windows Vista.
For rax
Hi rax,the screen that you are getting is called the "Blue Screen of Death"
In case of Vista, there could be only two reasons of this.
1.The copy of your Windows Vista is pirated.
2.Your configure is not matching.
It is most likely the first as you have enough configuration for running vista, but after all that you still lack a graphics card.
Try to find the time when the error comes (like while opening an application or something)
sometimes overheating is also a problem.
What you said doesn't nullify these points. You just took time as your defense???
Well if any company wants they can surely design a superb looking OS with heavy graphics and etc with 2gb ram requirements and you'll still tell its just a mtter of time. Right?
Tell me what does my OS have to do with my graphics acard?
why should it effect my performance anyway? I don't remember it being a necessity in previous times (when u don't wanna play games) like its being projected in vista.
Now coming to UAC. Yeah I primarily thought what u told. But as a matter of fact it REALLY can't so what it was supposed to do.
It can't even stop a virus from being executed. If 1 286kb program can easily de activate it whats the meaning of it of being there?
And in a 4 gb dvd you must pack drivers. What else do you think should be there? Only the os footprint? :)
see linux.
And about the BEAUTY. Just see a MAC.
then tell me do u see any similarities?
rabimba what you said is not correct.
if u see the history of xp,then you will come to know that in its first 2 years,it was heavily criticized, but now every pc runs a windows xp,so is in the case of vista.
and a graphics card is needed to unlock better features of windows vista.and as far as security is concerned,it is great, and if you want to be more secure than try an antivirus.
my desktop config is
*intel pentium dual core processor 2.8ghz with 1MB L2 cache
*1GB ddr2 ram
*intel 945 motherboard - i think it can give 128MB shared graphics memory
*160gb harddisk
now can i install vista?
if yes.. which version runs smooothly?
Your configuration will go gr8 with Vista Home Premium in case of desktop and Home Basic in case of laptop...
